Etude House Dear My Jelly-Lips Talk review

Posted by Unknown at 10/24/2014 09:58:00 PM 0 comments

Hi guys!

Today I'm going to talk about some lipsticks I got from Etude House, named Dear My Jelly-Lips Talk. Etude House is a famous makeup line from Korea. And since I've heard so much about it, I decided to try as well.

I've tried some lipbalm tint from the line. They work pretty well. And you can buy them for a good price. So I'm going to give the lipsticks a shot as well. (I'm waiting for like eight other lipsticks from Etude House, but other collection. So you will be hearing more about Etude lipsticks.)

The Dear My Jelly Lips collection have in total 8 lipsticks in different color. This is the picture som their site:

As you see, it's supposed to just give your lips a sheer color, like you're only wearing a lipgloss. I decided to buy four of them.

This is what the boxes look like. So pink and colorful. Etude House is know for the overly cute design of both packaging and product. I'll show you:

Like, how cute aren't the lipsticks? So girly. And you can tell them apart from the color ring near the bottom of the lipstick.

The product inside. It looks so compact and the color is so strong. In other word: it looks just like a normal lipstick. They have graved in the line's logo on the lipsticks. They do that to almost all their lipsticks. And it's so beautiful.

Now, let's get to the color on skin, ey?

This is what they look like on my hand. The color are sheer, even though they look so strong from the tube. The color code are (from left to right):

- JPK004
- JOR201
- JPK003
- JOR203
I think these are beautiful. Let's try them on the lips!

JPK004
This lipstick gives a cute coral pink color on your lips. Perfect for everyday use. It looks like you only have some gloss on your natural lips, not underneath something. I've been using this one like, everyday the past week now. Still love it.

JOR201
This one gives a more orange color to your lips. Still looks natural, but more like healthy plumming lips.

JPK003
This one is definitely pink. It's a cheerful color that suits summer perfectly. Unfortunately, it's fall/ nearly winter. So, bright playful pink, I'll be seeing next summer!

JOR203
This one gives you deeper orange/ nearly red sheer color to your lips. It suits anytime of the year, especially to the ones who are too afraid to wear a real red lipstick. This one is perfect to start with.

Formula
The lipstick feels like a lipbalm, and look like a color gloss on your lips. It's easy to apply, easy to claen off. It doesn't dry out your lips at all. Super moisturizing. You don't need any more balm underneath the lipsticks, which is perfect. Because I sometimes gets to lazy to to put on balm before I put on lipstick, and my lips dry out through the day, and cracks appear. It's not a pleasing sight.

Overall
I must say that these lipsticks have just become my new favorite everyday lipwear. It looks so natural, moisturizing, gives you a fabulous glossy look, and, you can apply anytime of the day, independent of mirror and lipbalm underneath.
Love it! Love it! Love it!

Write below your apinion about these gorgeouse as well!

See ya later ~

At work today

Posted by Unknown at 10/23/2014 10:34:00 PM 0 comments
Hi guys! How are you?

It's getting cold here in Norway. Still, I just had to buy an ice cream when I got off work. The girl in a thick jacket and a big white scarf with an ice cream in her hand, yes, that's me!
Restaurant business is slow these days. I guess it's because of all the sales in town. I guess people wants to buy something nice and warm for the coming winter. Well, that's good too. So that I and the chefs have time to share our feelings, and stuff. Not! Chefs in sushi bar are crazy when bored. Today I got my dinner like this:

I present you the head chef of the restaurant, who also is a dickhead sometimes: mr. Lee. Guess who had to clean that plate afterwards. Yeah, me!
Well I got food. So I shouldn't be complaining. Could've been worse.

That was pretty much my day. Work tomorrow as well. But I get to see my love afterwards, which is nice. Looking forward to that. Hope he's recovered.

I think we should end the post with a scary picture of me.

How was your day?

NYX Butter Lipstick review

Posted by Unknown at 10/22/2014 10:10:00 PM 0 comments
Hi guys!

On the last post, I wrote that I would try some lipsticks from NYX and review them as soon as I can. So, here I am!

There are in total 22 of the NYX Butter Lipsticks. They have from nude shades to pink to coral to the dark red shades. I ordered 6 of them. 3 nudes (I love nude lip colors), 2 pink/red and the last one is one of the darker shades they have in the line.
This is what they look like on the outside. I love the packaging as the boxes has the actual color of what inside them. You can also see the lipstick through the "glass"-part in the middle.
The lipsticks look beautiful when open as well. NYX Butter Lipsticks do give me a positive first impression.

The color that I got here are:
Snow Cap
Fun Size
Candy Buttons
Fizzies
Big Cherry
Mary Janes
In the same order from left to right.

I just have to say that the lipsticks smell AMAZING! You know the smell of newly baked butter cookies? These babies smell the exact same. So sweet and, of course, buttery.

Ok. Let's get to the swatches!
This is what they look like on my hand. Still the same order. Each lipstick gives a little bit different color on your skin than what you see on the tube. It tends to give you a lighter color when you actually put it on.
The lipsticks goes really smooth on both my hand and lips. It doesn't stick and feel really light on, almost like you only have lipbalm on. The darker shades are much more pigmented on your lips as it appears it's true color on the firste stroke. With the nude shades you have to work more with the layer for the color to show it's full "power". And you kinda have to put some lipbalm on before you apply the nude lipsticks because they dry the crap out of your lips. All the cracks on your lips are going to show, even the tiniest of them. I have really dry and sensitive lips, so I play safe and put some lipbalm on. With the darker shades, you don't need to put on lipbalm because the formular is amazing. It feels so soft and hydrating on your lips. And I think they work the best alone (and lipliner of course) if you want to create a sharp look.

This is my natural lip color

Snow Cap
Snow Cap is the most nude that I have here. The color is similar to my own skin color. I have a yellow undertone, so the lipstick looks more like a concealer with a hint of coral on me. I don't think I can pull this of. But I think it will suit someone with a bit fairer skin than me. This one tends to dry your lips so make sure you have lipbalm underneath.

Fun Size
This one is also a nude, but with more pink shade to it. This one suits me better if I go for a nude lip. The color is similar to the MAC Creme cup. You have to use lipbalm under this one as well because the lipstick is going to dry out your lips.

Candy Buttons
This one is my lip-color-but-better shade. It's a fine mixture of coral, pink and nude color in the same tube. The color is really sweet and can look good on many skin tones. I can totally see myself graping this one for a everyday color. Remember the lipbalm on this as well!

Fizzies
This is a warm pink that gives you lips just enough attention from the rest of the face. The color is beautiful, and the formular on this one is much better than the nude ones. This will look great on anyone who wants a healty rose/red lip color. And you with yellow undertone, this one will suit you perfectly. I find many of pink lipsticks that make my skin look even more yellow than it already was. But this warm pink color gives a warm healty glow. So I really like this one!

Big Cherry
This looks red from the tube, but it gives me more like a hot pink shade with a hint of blue. The formula is good, so you don't need lipbalm for this one. The darker shades may give you a little stain when it fades away. But it's fine with me. Nobody is going to notice your true lip color anyway after wearing dark lipstick. This color is going to take alot attention, so it's can be very beautiful wearing it to special occasion or just want to rock the look on a day at school.

Mary Janes
From the tube, this lipstick looks like a true red. But it appears as a beautiful vampire/ red wine lipstick. This is one of the warmer red lipsticks that I own. This color will suit any skin tone. The color is gorgeous! It'll be the perfect color to wear on Christmas parties or cold nighs in winter. It's so beautiful and classy. Unlike the other red lipsticks, this one feels light as a feather on your lips, and gives a hydrating feeling as well.

Ok, that's all of the shades that I have from NYX Butter Lipsticks. I love all colors, but still a little unsure on the first one because it's too similar to my own skin tone. The lasting power is better on the darker shades. And it feels more comfortable on your lips. Still, you have to reapply a few times a day. And it does come off when you eat. But for the price I pay, I don't even want to complain. The lipsticks are pretty amazing. Maybe I'll try out some more lipsticks from the line? I'll let you know.

What are your favorites?

Versace Bright Crystal & Crystal Noir review

Posted by Unknown at 10/22/2014 12:34:00 PM 0 comments
Hi guys!

I've always had a thing with scents since I was a kid. I like to smell good all the time. As I grow up and make a little money, perfumes become like a hobby. If someone wear anything that smells good, I'd ask them what they are wearing. But most of the time I do recognize the smell and realize I have the perfume at home.

Today I'm going to review two og the Versace's perfumes, called: Bright Crystal & Crystal Noir. I find it easier to compare these two perfumes as I review them. So if you like it, keep reading :)

1. Packaging

- Bright Crystal: Versace is known for a simple square packaging. So most of boxes just say the name and have a represented color on the out side. Bright Crystal's color is pink that gradients to white. Really simple and easy to recognize.

- Crystal Noir: noir means "night" in french. So it's not a surprise when Noir Crystal have a all black packaging.

2. The bottle

While the packaging is so simple, you will open it to find a HUGE surprise. Versace clearly put more effort on the bottle rather then the box. Both Bright Crystal and Crystal Noir have a similar bottle: a square bottle with their represented color and a HUGE "diamond" on top. How gorgeous isn't that?
Both bottles have the Versace logo on the top as you see. Beside from the big diamond, they keep it simple and clean.
Bright Crystal on the left. I have this perfume in 50ml bottle. Crystal Noir on the right with 30ml bottle.
Both look so beautiful with the diamond that you want to put them on display. It's more difficult to travel with though. The diamond will take alot of place in your bag and it's kinda heavy. But who cares? I have a gorgeous perfume. Everybody look at me!

3. The smell

- Bright Crystal: this perfume have a very clean smell when you first put it on or just smell it from the bottle. It smells like a mixture with fruits and flowers. The smell is very strong when you put it on. After you let it melt down a little bit on you skin, the warmer flower smell will take over the fruity side. It smell sweet and warm and clean at the same time. I will like a sweet classy girl wearing this. It's one of my favorite all time perfume. I recommend to wear this at day time or summer, because the smell is much sharper when you where it when it's cold outside and just doesn't give the same "sweet" you want to smell. The lasting power is terrific. After seven-eight hours, the smell fades a little bit and and really blend with your warm skin. I seriously smell my wrist all the time wearing this. And I've got alot of compliments as well.
Hehe, as you see, I had to buy a new one because I used it all up. But the bottle is so beautiful that I don't want to throw it away. It's gonna be on display next to to full one.

- Crystal Noir: as the name says, it suposed to be weared at night. It also is a good fall/ winter perfume because the smell is much heavier. It smell really nice from the bottle. I smell only loads of flowers and no fruit at all on this one. You're going to feel so classy and powerful wearing this. I can already see in my head all the ladies with black or red long dress walking to the ball like queen or something. This is not what I usual wear. Because I have to admit, I get a little headache wearing this because the smell is so strong I feel like it stays on my skin forever. This perfume is gonna suit women who is a bit older than me that want to feel classy on special occasion like a pretty dinner or ball. I feel it's too much to wear this everyday.
The lasting power of this one is impressive. It stays on all day and almost doesn't fade at all. It smell a bit sweeter when blended with your warm skin, but still give a strong impression.

So that was my impressions of the two perfumes. I seriously love the Bright Crystal to death. I've been wearing every single day. And each day I feel so feminine and special with it. If you are more like a powerful type, or want to buy something nice for mommy for Christmas, check the Crystal Noir out.
Versace also have one more "Crystal" perfume called Absolu or something, that kinda smells like Bright Crystal, but more instenst. So check that out as well. Smell it, swatch it and find your favorite Crystal.

I'll see you next time ~

10 am and I was still asleep. Then suddenly my mom and aunt barched in to the room "She has a mirror in here. Come check out the jacket I bought for you!". The two ladies stayed and talk for a solid ten minutes. But before they leave the room, mom told me to come out and eat cake. Turned out it was something good in the annoying talking of the two ladies after all.

Hihi I'm going to sleep some more, then go and eat cake. See you ~

Who's J?

Posted by Unknown at 10/21/2014 10:02:00 PM 0 comments
Hi guys!

Since my blog is new (I created it like 5 hours ago), everyone must be curius about who J is? In this post, I'm going to write a little bit about myself.

My name is Jenny (for the J). I'm 20 years old and live in a beautiful country called Norway. I actually moved here from Vietnam with my family 10 years ago. I speak fluently vietnamese and norwegian, so english is my third language. I'm sorry if there are something gramatically wrong in what I write. Stay with me ~

Growing up seeing both negative and positive sides of life, I'm thankful for each day I'm live. I couldn't ask for more. I have a big and beautiful family spreads all over the world, get to live in one of the richest country, have a beautiful home and good friends. And of course, the love of my life, David.

I'm a fulltime student, working partime in a sushi bar + take loans to survive the hard days in Norway. The progam I'm studying is Biomedical Science. It's a three years bachelor program and I'm currently on my second year. It doesn't look THAT difficult on the outside, but I really have to study the crap out of my brain to get through. This blog is a nice distraction from the busy life. So that's why I'm here.
Even though I live with my mom, I still have to pay rent. The only good thing is that you don't have to pay so much to go to school here. You spend the money on everything else.

Life isn't always as sweet as it seems. But if you stay positive, you can see everything around you changing to something better. Life is a bumpy ride. And it's just the beginning. Enjoy it while you can! :)

And of course a picture of me in the end of the post. Taken in Bulgaria 2013, my first ever trip to warmer-land with my boyfriend.
Summer 2014 we flew to Vietnam, but there were only ugly picture, so I decide to not post them yet. My dear readers might get scared. Hahahah...

Ok, that's it for the day. See you soon ~
